May’s Wealth Building DIVAs meeting focused on something that impacts every area of life and business—happiness, and how to intentionally cultivate it even during challenging times.

On May 1st, 2026, women gathered at Centennial Hall inside the Burlington Public Library for a thoughtful and uplifting morning centered on emotional well-being and resilience. The atmosphere in the room felt both reflective and encouraging, as attendees stepped into a conversation that went beyond business strategies and into how we experience our day-to-day lives.

The discussion, “Cultivating Happiness Alongside Life’s Challenges,” was led by Kathleen Desloges, who introduced science-based skills and practical tools designed to help individuals build and maintain a stronger sense of emotional well-being.

What made this session stand out was its relevance. In a world filled with constant information, external pressures, and ongoing demands, the conversation created space to pause and consider a different approach—one where happiness is not something we wait for, but something we actively practice and develop.

As the discussion unfolded, attendees reflected on their own experiences and began to see how small, intentional shifts could have a meaningful impact on how they navigate both personal and professional challenges. The room became more open and engaged, with conversations grounded in awareness, connection, and possibility.

One attendee went home with a thoughtfully curated Easter-style gift basket filled with happiness-themed items, including a t-shirt and a coffee or tea mug—generously donated by Kathleen Desloges. A fitting and uplifting takeaway from a morning centered on well-being and positivity. Congratulations to Jennifer B. for winning a journal and to Jo-Anne R for winning the Easter-style happiness basket.

This wasn’t just a networking meeting—it was a reminder that how you feel matters, and that building a successful life includes building emotional well-being. If you weren’t there, you missed a conversation that could change how you approach both your mindset and your daily experience.

This event is organized, hosted, and sponsored by Juanita Heidebrecht, Your Mortgage Lady.
